Imagination

One of my favorite authors is Roald Dahl. I felt like he understood me a little. He gave me an escape from my childhood like some other stories I'd read. I liked the places I could go, the characters that would dare to make mistakes and go on adventures or meet strangers. Mystical journeys, mysteries and magical nights.

When I had desires or dreams in the real world they were often met with rejection or indifference. Imagination though it saved you, could get bruised and pushed around. The thing you cherished can make you bitter or broken if you let the world defeat you. What do you do when things close in on you? You breathe it in and let it go because its not who you were meant to be. Somehow, with the feeling of sand between your toes, the smell of your favorite food, the touch of a hand, the genuine smile of a stranger, you step, one step at a time into a world that you don't know with a small hope that will grow with each step....dreamers of dreams in a world of imagination.
